2017/2018 Season Overview

MsSierra begins her 2017/2018 season in New York, where she will perform at the Richard Tucker Gala at Carnegie Hall on December 10th.  Not only will she perform, but she is honored to be this year’s Richard Tucker Award recipient. This prestigious award is given to American singers on the cusp of a major international career, by a panel of industry professionals. Past award winners include: Renée Fleming, Stephanie Blythe, Lawrence Brownlee, Matthew Polenzani and Christine Goerke. At this year’s concert, MsSierra is scheduled to sing with Stephanie Blythe, Javier Camarena, Tara Erraught, Vittorio Grigolo, Ailyn Pérez, Ekaterina Semenchuk, Bryn Terfel and Tamara Wilson. Tickets to this gala concert go on sale September 15th, and are available for purchase here

Next on Ms. Sierra’s schedule is Susanna at The Metropolitan Opera, beginning on December 29th. MsSierra makes her role debut in this Richard Eyre production of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, conducted by Harry Bicket. She is joined by Ailyn Perez as the Countess Almaviva, Mariusz Kwiecien as Count Almaviva, Ildar Abdrazakov as Figaro, and Isabel Leonard as Cherubino. This delightful comedy will be performed at The Metropolitan Opera through January 19th.

Returning to Europe, Ms. Sierra performs in Bernstein’s 3rd Symphony, Kaddish, in Rome with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, conducted by Antonio Pappano. Dedicated to John F. Kennedy following his death in 1963, this stirring work takes its name from the prayer chanted during Jewish death services. Ms. Sierra performs as the soprano soloist. Performances are February 22, 23, and 24th.

In March and April, Ms. Sierra makes another role debut, this time at the Staatsoper Berlin in the role of Nannetta in Verdi’s Falstaff. The last opera of Verdi’s oeuvre, this comedic work is based on Shakespeare’s play The Merry Wives of Windsor. Conducted by Daniel Barenboim, the production is by Mario Martone. Ms. Sierra performs in three shows, on March 25th, 28th, and April 1st.

After rave reviews as Pamina, Zerlina, Gilda and Flavia Gemmira, Ms. Sierra returns to the Opéra de Paris for a brand new production of Don Pasquale. She sings the role of Norina, alongside Michele Pertusi as Don Pasquale, Florian Sempey as Dottor Malatesta, Lawrence Brownlee as Ernesto, and Frédéric Guieu as un notario in this Paolo Fantin production. Eveline Pidò conducts. Tickets to this Donizetti comedy are available as of December 5th for the following dates: June 9, 11, 13, 16, 19, 22, 26, 29 and July 2, 6, 9, 12, 2018.
